The name Arborico is deeply personal. It reflects both my lifelong connection to trees and the path that led me into arboriculture.
Growing up, I was known as “Rich,” short for Richard. In high school Spanish class, that nickname naturally evolved into “Rico.” While the Spanish word "rico" can describe something rich, abundant, or full of life, it also became a name that stuck with me—one tied to growth, vitality, and character.
When it came time to name my business, I wanted something that honored both my identity and my passion. Arbor comes from the Latin word for tree, symbolizing strength, longevity, and connection to the land. Rico brings in that personal history and the idea of richness—not in wealth, but in health, diversity, and thriving nature.
Together, Arborico represents my belief that trees are living investments—resources that, when cared for properly, enrich our lives, communities, and environments for generations.
